Singapore will sell new iPhone 4S without cameras. The reason for such modification is that there are lots of people working in the military industry, where cameras are completely prohibited, and Indonesian mobile operators don’t like the idea of losing customers.
However, it is not the official version of iPhone from Apple, because both cameras will be removed by the local operators. Unfortunately, there are low chances that non-camera iPhone will have nice and smooth back panel with no camera shutters. Instead, both cameras will just be removed or disconnected by the operator. This will influence the final price of the iPhone 4S, and it will cost approximately $38 more. Moreover, this modification will break the original Apple warranty, so the local operators will have to provide their own service.
